The Institute of International Relations (IDIS) will host the annual meeting of the European Alliance for Asian Studies (EAAS) in Athens on 18–19 September 2025. The meeting will serve as a key forum for the European and international Asian Studies community and will include a dedicated roundtable on Asian Studies in Greece, featuring the participation of distinguished international scholars.
The European Alliance for Asian Studies serves as the umbrella organisation for the field of Asian Studies in Europe. It brings together national associations and academic institutions, facilitates knowledge exchange and scholarly collaboration, and seeks to strengthen the academic community of Asian Studies in Europe. At the same time, it fosters dialogue with researchers and universities beyond the continent. Through conferences, thematic workshops, and international collaborative projects, EAAS promotes research and education on Asia in all its diversity.
